Karawhiua mai

I have ditched Twitter for good (again).

The left criticises me for not having blind allegiance or for not engaging in their performative activism, and well, the right demands free peach while resorting to cyberbullying, misogyny, pushing racism, and running weak ideological arguments from the 80s that most of the literature has disproven.

Both sides risk alienating voters and, in the medium term, undermining our shared public institutions.

But there was a straw that broke the camel’s back this King’s Birthday weekend (Rā Whānau kia koe Kīngi Tūheitia).

On Sunday, I discovered accounts I had blocked because they were harassing me are now being pushed into my feed. Excellent work, Elon. You broke it.

And, to those people and organisations running those accounts, I fight best uphill. I also have a track record of crushing stalkers and the organisations that protect them. So, game on.

If you think your behaviour silences me: it does just the opposite.

I’ll probably jump back onto Twitter occasionally; who knows?

*Update: I am back on Twitter. It’s a new account, and it’s always locked down. I’m mostly watching politics and reading public administration articles.
